《芭比Barbie》上映後，全球都深陷粉紅魅力中！卻很少人知道，以洛杉磯「威尼斯海灘Venice Beach」作為芭比島與真實世界的入口，有多妙！一起來看看這背後的故事~

嗨！我是安拉，人類學本科生，喜歡分享觀光客看不到的世界另一面🦋

真人版電影《芭比Barbie》描述女主角「芭比」某天產生「死亡」念頭，導致她心中美好的芭比國度開始出現詭異不尋常的事情。

為了恢復一切，她必須前往真實人類世界，尋找自己的玩具主人。

而從芭比島進到真實世界的最後一步，就是穿著芭比色彩繽紛的直排輪，一路溜進威尼斯海灘。

不過，先來說說芭比與肯尼來到真實世界後，發生了什麼事。

自我價值破裂的完美芭比

當芭比來到真實世界，全身散發格格不入的正能量。

當她認為完美的「芭比娃娃」可以為所有人帶來笑容，卻遇上痛批「芭比娃娃」的小女孩、想把她關進巨大箱子的壞商人！

更可怕的是，當她重返芭比島，才驚訝地發現，經過真實世界洗禮、開始崇拜起男性力量的肯尼，把芭比島完全變成男性主導一切的世界。

甚至奪走了芭比的家，讓所有女性失去自我，成為仰望男性生活的物品。

這個世界再也不是以她為中心了。

「我再也不漂亮、不完美了。」──芭比沮喪地坐在地上痛哭。

有句話說，人生會有三次成長痛，第一次便是發現「原來自己不是世界中心」的時候。

如果你也經歷過這種時刻，相信你更懂芭比此刻的心情──對於自我存在價值的迷惘、破裂、質疑和極度不安。

不知道該如何再相信自己，不知道該以什麼樣的信念繼續活下去；

又在一次又一次的掙扎與嘗試中，找到自我的新秩序與價值認同。

(然而這個世界有各種不同的聲音、性別、族群，本來就沒有誰是誰的中心。

這樣迷失與找尋的心情和經歷不只你有、芭比有，20世紀時，美國洛杉磯威尼斯海灘上，也出現過一大群這樣的年輕人，現在我們稱他們為──

「Beat Generation(垮掉的一代、疲憊的一代，或墮落的一代)」。

二戰後在威尼斯海灘上垮掉的一代

其實美國「Beat Generation垮掉的一代」就像是美國版的竹林七賢。

他們同樣處在戰亂動盪、執政者有違倫常的年代，同樣用放蕩出格的行為反抗社會──

「中國竹林七賢」源於漢末的衰敗、叛亂、天災人禍，當權者陽奉陰違地說著理法孝道，一邊血腥鎮壓；

「美國垮掉的一代」源於二戰後冷戰階段，受到麥卡錫主義(就像台灣的白色恐怖、美國版文革)影響，知識份子被惡意誹謗、失去言論自由，社會浸泡在極度壓抑及恐懼的氛圍中。

以「麥卡錫主義(McCarthyism)」為代表的反共、排外活動，涉及到美國政治、教育和文化等各方面，有「美国文革」之稱，大量的人受牽連(圖片來源)

成長於這個時代的美國青年人被稱為「Silent Generation沉默的一代」，他們傳統、守舊、多虔誠信奉基督教或天主教，導致保守主義大行其道。

而這樣的保守主義又催生出另一群挑戰社會主流價值觀的亞文化青年群體──「Beat Generation垮掉的一代」。

1950年代，他們用出格的行為（毒品、性、奇裝異服、粗話連篇、藐視權位、追求自由）在美國西岸、洛杉磯威尼斯，給了主流社會強烈的衝突與挑戰，同時也在用最本真的方式回應、探索自己的生命。

這群青年中不乏優秀的創作者，他們的每一篇作品都極為獨特與原創。

例如經典不敗的Jack Kerouac《On the road(在路上)》，描述探索自我、尋找自由的旅程與冒險，喚醒許多人的內在渴望。

後來，在美國「垮掉的一代」的影響下，促進嬉皮運動、反戰浪潮的產生。

並讓當初只是想模仿義大利威尼斯的美國洛杉磯威尼斯，建立了屬於自己的自由精神！

結論：創造屬於自己的意義

而在電影最終，芭比重新定義自我價值的最後一步，就是她決定進入人類真實世界，並說：

I want to be a part of the people that make meaning, not the thing that is made.

「我想成為能夠創造價值（意義）的一份子，而不單單屬於被創造出來的東西而已。」

這樣的心情和1950年代威尼斯海灘上垮掉的一代不謀而合！

(雖然不知道導演是不是這樣想的😂)

但了解到這裡，是不是更可以感受到把芭比島和真實世界的出入口，設在洛杉磯威尼斯海灘真的是一個絕妙到不行的選擇！

不管是芭比穿著直排輪在陽光下前行，或是在真實日常生活中，威尼斯海灘上狂野地溜滑板、如花一般展現各種體態的肉體、威尼斯濱海大街上(Boardwalk)上各樣特色藝術及服飾，他們都再再地向世界訴說──

「活成屬於自己的樣子，不需要任何人的同意！🌺」
